The Park of Villa dei Cedri
Cypresses, bay trees, holm oaks, yews. Alongside these evergreens, which are pretty much common in Northern Italian parks, the Park of Villa dei Cedri is enriched with trees of more exotic origins: cedars, of course, but also redwoods, magnolias, bald cypresses, palms, loquats, thujas and many others. At the guest’s disposal there are 13 hectares of plants of all kinds, streams, small bridges and ponds. And then there are of course the villas: the main one, built for the Miniscalchi family between the late 18th and early 19th centuries by architect Luigi Canonica, one of Napoleon’s favorites; and Villa Moscardo, a 15th century noble residence featuring a distinctive turret. Heart of the thermal park is the central pond, heated by spring water that flows to the surface and ensures moments of pure wellness.
The Thermal Water of Colà di Lazise
It’s interesting to note that the Thermal baths of Colà di Lazise, despite being set in a historic park, are a relatively recent discovery: the park’s thermal water was discovered by chance in the late 1980s, as the owners were looking for a new underground water source to irrigate the park. And so it was that a source was identified underground, capable of bringing water to the surface at 37°C (98.6°F), alkaline and rich in therapeutic properties, including excellent anti-inflammatory effects. In addition to the main pond, there is a second thermal lake, as well as the charming Winter Garden, which features a cozy heated relaxation area with views of the park during the cold season. The offerings of the Villa dei Cedri Thermal Baths are further completed by a wellness center, featuring various types of saunas, chromotherapy showers, a Turkish bath, thermal pools and massage stations.
